Erfahrungsbericht vom Praktikum im Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark<\/h2>
As an Erasmus Mundus student in the DYCLAM+ program (Dynamics of Cultural Landscapes, Heritage, Memory, and Conflictualities), with a strong passion for natural heritage, I had the opportunity to complete a forty-day internship at the Erz der Alpen <\/i>UNESCO Global Geopark in Austria.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>During my internship, I focused on documenting the cultural and natural heritage of the Geopark using digital media. My primary goal was to create photos and videos that could showcase the Geopark\u2019s rich diversity across various social media platforms. To achieve this, I explored on foot the four picturesque villages within the Geopark; H\u00fcttau, Bischofshofen, M\u00fchlbach am Hochk\u00f6nig, and St. Veit im Pongau along with their surrounding areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>From my personal experience, I can confidently say that the natural beauty of the Geopark surpassed all expectations. Its breathtaking mountain scenery with tall peaks, green valleys, unique rock formations, and historic mining sites offered unparalleled inspiration. Erfolgreicher Abschluss des Praktikums von Shubham Kumar<\/h2>
Mitte Juli 2024 begann Shubham Kumar sein Praktikum im Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark. Shubham brachte seine Expertise in diverse Projekte des Geoparks ein und berichtete \u00fcber seine Erfahrungen in einem Vortrag \u00fcber die “Majestic Himalayas” im Besucherzentrum. Austauschtreffen im Sobrarbe-Pyren\u00e4en UGGp<\/h2>
Ende August \/ Anfang September besuchte Horst Ibetsberger den Sobrarbe-Pyren\u00e4en UGGp in Spanien \/ Provinz Aragon. Gemeinsam mit dem spanischen Geopark Geologen \u00c1nchel Belmonte Ribas und Karen-Louise Smidth vom Vestjylland UGGp aus D\u00e4nemark wurden das Besucherzentrum in Ainsa sowie bedeutende Geotope besichtigt. Zudem wurden geoparkspezifische Themen, wie z.B. regenerativer Tourismus in sensiblen Hochgebirgsregionen diskutiert.<\/p><\/div>

Letzte Woche fand ein spannender Vortrag \u00fcber die majest\u00e4tischen Transhimalayas im Besucherzentrum des Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geoparks statt. Shubham Kumar macht aktuell ein Praktikum im Geopark und gab einen Einblick \u00fcber die Geografie und die Kultur dieses Gebiets. Vielen Dank f\u00fcr die interessanten Einblicke!<\/p>

Besuch vom Vestjylland UGGp<\/h2>
Ende Juli stattete Karen-Louise Smidth von unserem Partnergeopark in D\u00e4nemark den Erz der Alpen UGGp einen mehrt\u00e4gigen Besuch ab. Dabei wurde das Besucherzentrum angesehen, der Wasserfall Trail begangen sowie das geologische Alpenpanorama und die Bergzerreissung am Hochgr\u00fcndeck studiert und auch das Schaubergwerk in Larzenbach \/ H\u00fcttau befahren. Infolge dessen wurden m\u00f6gliche zuk\u00fcnftige Kooperationsm\u00f6glichkeiten sondiert.<\/p><\/div>

Erfahrungsbericht Praktikum im Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark<\/h2>
Hello, I\u2019m Os, a geologist from the Philippines!<\/p>
My favorite thing about being a geologist is the ability to have a deeper appreciation for the natural world, thanks in part to our understanding of their origins! This love for the Earth, and my passion to share it to others is what led me to pursue a Master\u2019s degree in Geoheritage, with a focus on education and science communication.<\/p>
Between February to May 2024, I had the amazing opportunity to intern at the Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geopark. I helped the team design a pilot informal educational program that centered on different Earth science topics like Earth systems and climate change. My internship involved a lot of hiking to learn about the area\u2019s geology, and exposures to local culture, because we believed that our educational workshops will only be effective if we can contextualize scientific concepts, and highlight the connections between culture, nature, and geology! Although I was not able to conduct the workshops myself (unfortunately, I do not speak German), I hope that my work was a great help to the team, and that it could serve as a foundation or framework for future educational endeavors.<\/p>
I had a truly wonderful time in Bischofshofen, and will not forget the few months that I spent there! I learned a lot\u2014from the area\u2019s complex geology, to cultural practices and traditions that were different from mine, but wonderful nonetheless! Lastly, I had the opportunity to work with extraordinary people who greatly helped me along the way, and without them, this internship would not have been possible.<\/p><\/div>

Im Februar 2024 startete Camille “Os” Muyco ihr Praktikum im Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark im Zuge Ihres Masterstudiums der Geologie. Os leistete wertvolle Arbeit f\u00fcr den Geopark und brachte ihre Expertise in diverse Projekte ein. Er\u00f6ffnungsfeier des Erzweges in M\u00fchlbach am Hochk\u00f6nig<\/h2>
Am 08. Juni 2024 fand die offizielle Er\u00f6ffnung des Erzweges rund um das Knappenheim in M\u00fchlbach am Hochk\u00f6nig statt. Erhard Plosky, Obmann des Bergbauvereins M\u00fchlbach am Hochk\u00f6nig und Gert Furtm\u00fcller, Obmann es Verein Erz der Alpen, pr\u00e4sentierten den Besucherinnen und Besuchern die neuen Geosites. Dar\u00fcber hinaus wurden Stollenf\u00fchrungen im Johannastollen, Vorf\u00fchrungen von Film-Rarit\u00e4ten und eine Schnitzeljagd f\u00fcr die jungen G\u00e4ste angeboten. Musikalisch umrahmt wurde die Veranstaltung durch die M\u00fchlbacher Hoizmusi und die Heubodenmusi.<\/p>

Vortrag der \u00f6sterreichischen Wissenschaftlerin des Jahres 2023 Dr. Andrea Fischer<\/h2>
Die Wissenschaftlerin des Jahres 2023 PD Mag. Mag. Dr. Andrea Fischer war am 07. Juni 2024 zu Gast im Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark. Sie berichtete in ihrem \u00a0Vortrag mit dem Titel “Glaziologische Forschung am Beispiel \u00dcbergossene Alm” \u00fcber ihre faszinierende Forschung an den \u00f6sterreichischen Gletschern mit dem Fokus auf dem Gletscher am Hochk\u00f6nig.<\/p>

Vortrag \u00fcber die heimischen Gletscher von Dr. Andreas Kellerer-Pirklbauer-Eulenstein<\/h2>
Wie es aktuell um unsere heimischen Gletscher steht und wie sich diese im letzten Jahrhundert entwickelt haben, davon berichtete MMag. Dr. Andreas Kellerer-Pirklbauer-Eulenstein bei seinem Vortrag zum Thema “Gletschermessungen in \u00d6sterreich seit 1891 mit Details zum Hochk\u00f6niggletscher sowie der Pasterze” \u00a0im Besucherzentrum in Bischofshofen. Er gab spannende Einblicke in aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse und es gab auch die M\u00f6glichkeit den Experten zum Ausblick \u00fcber die weitere Entwicklung der Gletscher zu befragen.<\/p>
