UNESCO
The Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geopark is a UNESCO Global Geopark alongside the Styrian Eisenwurzen UNESCO Global Geopark and the Karawanken UNESCO Global Geopark is currently the third UNESCO Geopark in Austria. The Carnic Alps are recognised as a national geopark led. The co-operation partners of the Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geoparks are the Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen UNESCO Global Geopark in Thuringia and the Porphyry Land National Geopark in Saxony, Germany and the Vestjylland UNESCO Global Geopark in Denmark and the Shiniuzhai Geopark in China.
Partnership
A strategic partnership exists with the "Chiemgau Ice Age Landscape", in particular with the Natural History and Mammoth Museum in Siegsdorf / Bavaria and the University of Salzburg. All partners of the Ore of the Alps UNESCO Global Geopark are united by a cordial co-operation and the desire for long-term, good cooperation.
